Privacy Policy

Effective October 14, 2026

Flip Search is a puzzle game made by Timothy Squires ("I", "me"). This policy explains what information the app uses, where it goes, and the choices you have. If you have a question, email flipsearch.app@gmail.com.

The short version

Information stored on your device

The app saves your puzzle results (times, hints used, awards), puzzles you've started, your streaks and your settings. This information stays on your device and is never sent to me.

iCloud

If you're signed in to iCloud, the app keeps a copy of your puzzle results in Apple's iCloud key-value storage, so your streaks and stats carry over to a new iPhone or iPad. This data lives in your own iCloud account and is handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. I can't see it. You can turn this off under Settings › [your name] › iCloud. Because of this backup, deleting the app doesn't erase your results. To erase them from your device and iCloud, open the menu (☰) and choose Help › Delete my game data.

Purchases and subscriptions

Memberships, free trials and puzzle packs are sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment. The app only receives confirmation of which items you own so it can unlock them. To manage or cancel a subscription, go to Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions.

Game Center

If the app offers Game Center leaderboards and you choose to use them, your Game Center nickname and scores are shared with Apple's Game Center service and may be visible to other players, depending on your Game Center settings. Game Center is run by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy.

Advertising

The free version of Flip Search shows ads provided by Google AdMob. Members don't see ads.

You can read how Google uses information from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Usage statistics

To find out which puzzles are too easy or too hard, the app may send anonymous usage statistics, such as which puzzles were started, finished or left part-way, how long they took, and whether hints were used. These statistics are not linked to your name, email, Apple ID or advertising identifier, and are only used to improve the game.

Crash reports

If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may send me anonymous crash reports and app performance data. You can change this under Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

Puzzles you submit

If you use Submit Your Own, your puzzle is sent from your own email app, so I receive your email address along with the puzzle and any name or note you add. I only use these to review your puzzle, credit you if it's shared (by the name and place you gave, never your email address), and reply to you. Ask me any time to delete your submission.

Messages you send us

If you use the feedback form on our support page, your name, email address, message and any device details or screenshot you include are sent to us by email through FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), a form-delivery service. We only use them to reply and to fix problems, and we delete them on request.

Links to other websites

The app links to a few outside pages, such as the Flip Search books on Amazon. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

Children

Flip Search is made for players of all ages. I don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Ads are non-personalized and limited to content suitable for all ages. If you believe a child has sent me personal information, email me and I'll delete it.

Your choices and rights

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
